Inauguration Ceremony of New Academic Curriculum by MES

Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has congratulated the office bearers of Minhaj Education Society and MQI on designing educational curriculum in line with the demands of contemporary age. He said that new curriculum will not only cultivate interest of the students in modern sciences but also make them a patriotic Pakistani and a confident Muslim.

In his message that was read at a ceremony of Minhaj Education society, Dr Qadri said that educational curriculum will have to be redesigned in accordance with the demands of contemporary realities to fight terrorism and extremism in society. He said that the present system of education has divided the nation along class lines and made them victim of intellectual confusion.

President of Minhaj-ul-Quran International Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri presided over the ceremony, whereas Khurram Nawaz Gandapur and MD MES Rashid Hameed Kalami spoke on the occasion.

Addressing the ceremony, Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that humanitarian, welfare, and national objective of provision of education cannot be achieved with commercial mindset. He said that darkness of ignorance is being thickened by keeping the children of the nation deprived of the modern-day scientific education. He said that MQI is a global movement working for promotion of knowledge, research, love, interfaith dialogue and brotherhood. He said that hundreds of educational institutions working under the banner of MQI are not only increasing the literacy rate but also quenching the thirst of seekers of knowledge.

Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri further said that more than ten thousand qualified teachers are imparting affordable, quality education to 1.5 lac students in over 650 schools of MES. He said that love of the Holy Prophet (SAW) and Pakistan are given special importance in the education imparted at MES schools.

Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that contact with Muslim history and culture was broken purposefully and a different kind of anti-Islam thought was promoted, which caused a damage to Muslim history and undermined the spirit of Pakistanism. He said that reforms in 73per cent of text books and new curriculum are a matter of pride for MES.

MD MES Rashid Hameed Kalyami threw light on the broad contours of curriculum and the objectives that it seeks to achieve.

(r ) Muhammad Ahmad, Shahid Latif, Ahmad Nawaz Anjum, GM Malik, Rafique Najam, Prof Muhammad Iqbal, Dr Amber Asif, Tanvir Khan, Sardar Shakir Mazari, Mazhar Alvi, Irfan Yousaf, Ali Waqar, Saifullah Bhatti and others were present on the occasion.
