Message from Chairman

Message from The Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri Chairman Board of Governors Minahj University LahoreThe significance of women education, in our view, is manifold. The awareness needs of modern life coupled with new trends and priorities have certainly brought about an all-encompassing progressive awakening towards women education. However, we derive our vision from the splendor of our history gilded by magnificent contributions women made to the advancement of society. Modern civilization is still far from what heights of excellence women achieved due to the blessings of Islamic teachings and values.

Women rose to prominence and played their most enviable and historical role in the fields of education, public and state affairs, administration, defence and politics. This galaxy gleams with the effulgence of the venerable mother of believers Aisha Siddiqa, and Asma bint Abi Bakr and Umm Abdullah ibn Zubair, Mamuna bint Ali, Fatima bint Abbas, Nafeesa bint al-Hasan, Umm Aiman Habashia, Salama bint Qais, Zainab bint Ali, Umm Kulsum, Umm Sulaim and thousands of their successors and followers (may Allah be well pleased with them). Many eminent ladies also held key positions in the departments of public affairs, state matters, judicial and political matters and administration. Syeda Sharifa Fatima was appointed Governor Yemen, San'a and Najran; Shifa' bint Abdullah Makhzumia was chairperson Accountability Court with the additional charge of Head of Market Administration Court. Mother of Caliph Muqtadar was appointed as Chief Justice Appellate Court Baghdad. Syeda bint Ahmad was Governor Yemen; Sultan Salahuddin's neice Syeda Hanifa Khatun was Governor Halab Province. Islamic history is replete with countless exalted names.

Whether an Islamic society, or some non-Islamic populace, an eastern community, or a western people, there is no region on earth that has made a breakthrough in its socio-economic development, political order, securing peace and harmony, protection of human rights and values and the process of strengthening and stabilizing a country and its economy without full participation of the womenfolk. That is our vision. Today we are to strive for peace, love and moral excellence to attain to the Islamic ideal. We have to work diligently to pull our society out of the quagmire of corruption and decline. But we firmly believe, we cannot do without educating women most scientifically and massively and in congruity to our ideal and vision.

Minhaj College for Women is committed to drive this vision. They are a dynamic team, charged with love for Allah and His Beloved Messenger (blessings and peace be upon him), our mark of distinction.
